I catered a big party on New Year’s eve and someone brought an hors d’oeuvres called Josephinas. It was one of the most delicious appetizers I’ve ever had. People inhaled them, or as they say in England – “Hoovered” them up. You’ve got to try them!

Josephinas 

1 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
1 (4 oz) can diced green chilies or jalapenos
1 cup monterey jack cheese, grated
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 loaf French bread (baguette)

Combine butter, onion, peppers, cheese, mayo, and garlic powder. Slice bread 1/4 inch thick, spread with butter mixture. Broil until cheese bubbles.
