Yesterday, I went to a little Japanese fast food restaurant for lunch and they were featuring Japanese Tacos – beef, chicken or salmon. Really? I thought it was completely ridiculous, so I ordered the Chicken with miso-sesame vinaigrette, green onion relish & spicy salsa roja on a soft corn tortilla. It turned out to be completely delicious! The only thing I would have done differently is to put it on a flour tortilla.
I think the popularity of the Korean Taco truck that cruises around Los Angeles is seeping into the general food culture. I usually don’t buy into “fusion” cuisine, but in this case it was a pleasant surprise!
